COMPSOC Constitution Amendments

These are the constitution amendments that were passed at the 2004 Compsoc AGM.
|
- 1.1 The official name of the club shall be COMPSOC.
- 2.1 COMPSOC shall be recognised as a constitutant club of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, covering the Computer Science, Computer Engineering programs as well as all CSE postgraduate programs. Where a student is completing both an undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree, only their undergraduate degree will be considered for membership purposes.
- 2.5 Associate members will be admitted at a cost of $2.
- 1.3 The aims and objectives of the club are to provide support for members
in activities for the benefit of members.
- 3.1.5 A Women's Officer who must be female.
- 3.1.6 A Publicity Officer
- 3.1.7 A Vice President
- 3.1.8 A Technical Officer (and an assistant is appointed by the Technical Officer)
- 3.1.9 Council: two representatives from first year and two representatives from second year.
- 3.6.1 A vacancy may be filled by another executive member as long as there remain
at least four distinct members on the executive.
- 4.1.2.1 Advertised on the COMPSOC website and on the soc-announce mailing list.
- 4.1.2.3 Emailed to all members excepting those who elect not to receive such email.
- 4.4.8 An independent returning officer who is not standing shall be selected by the
outgoing executive and shall choose the voting system, supervise the nomination process, declare elections started, and ensure the accuracy of the vote count.
- 4.4.9 The returning officer shall permit voting for the period defined at the AGM.
